2015 BYSC Winter Training Program

BYSC has made great strides the last few years in providing a high quality off-season training program for our members. I strongly believe we have continued the trend for the 2014-2015 winter training season. We will continue to offer opportunities on different surfaces with high focus on all aspects of the game of soccer.

Turf
As with years past, there will once again be weekend opportunities on the turf for all of our members. Our younger players (U9-U12) will register for winter training via the link below and train as an age group with use of age appropriate curriculum. All curriculum is designed and will be implemented by our directors of player development. These trainings will provide opportunities for our younger players to receive more touches on a ball with professional technical instruction. Our goal is to give each player an equal opportunity to play and develop into a well-rounded individual.

Our older players (U13+) will train with their teams to focus on specific technical areas as well as broader tactical areas. There will also be a focus on building growth team chemistry as the team-oriented focus is required to compete at the older age levels.

Goalkeeper training for all of the ages will take place on the turf as well. These sessions are for all current club keepers as well as those players interested in trying out the position.

Futsal
Futsal will be offered during the week on gym surfaces for all of our members. Players will take part in a quick warm-up involving a specific skill and then play for the rest of the time. Positions, team formation, and score will be of little importance. We will emphasize small-sided games to heighten number of individual touches to help our players be more comfortable with the ball at their feet.

Strength and Conditioning
Strength and conditioning is back for the second year due to great success seen last winter. Due to popularity we have added an extra session to allow division by age. Sessions for players U9-U13 will be held for the first hour and U14+ will be in the second.

Overall, we are excited to be providing the opportunities for our club members to continue to play during the winter months and are looking forward to having the winter training program grow.

I'm looking forward to seeing our players and families over the next few months take advantage of these programs.
