Kickers

Kickers Recreation (In-house) Soccer Program

Kickers Recreational (in-house) soccer programs provide a fun, low-cost introduction to organized soccer for U5-13 players (4-12 year-olds.) Knowledgeable, professional trainers supervise all training sessions and games, to keep your player engaged and enjoying each hour-long soccer experience. We want to make sure that they have "Super Soccer Sundays!"

BYSC Director of Coaching, Sean McKuras, has designed the Kickers program around the best youth sports research on keeping kids engaged and having fun, while developing their basic soccer skills. We use smaller fields with fewer players on each team to make sure that everyone is actively involved. This also produces lower player to trainer/coach ratios in order to increase individual coaching and improve player safety.

Kickers is offered in Winter, Summer and Fall.

The Winter session of Kickers begins in early January and runs for six Sundays on the basketball courts of the Jefferson and Kennedy high school Activity Centers. Players are grouped by age for their one-hour session.

The Summer session of Kickers begins in mid-May and runs for eight Sundays, with days off for Memorial Day, Mega Cup (the first weekend in June), and Fourth of July. All sessions are held at Lincoln Fields, at 88th Street and Thomas Avenue South. U5-8 players spend half of each hour-long session in group skill development with the professional trainers. During the second half-hour, they play a friendly game, lead by parent coaches. U9-13 players have a one-hour group skill development with the profession trainers during the week, and a one-hour game on Sundays that is lead by parent coaches.

The Fall session of Kickers begins in mid-September and runs for six Sundays at Lincoln Fields, at 88th Street and Thomas Avenue South. Each session includes group skill development with the professional trainers, followed by a friendly game, lead by parent coaches.
