Bloomington United will permit players to be rostered to an older age group team when:
A. Appropriate competitive level is unavailable within Club at player's actual age level - and -
B. Rostering on an older age group team does not displace a Bloomington resident player or returning player who is suited to that competitive level – and –
C. Rostering on an older age group team does not result in an insufficient roster size at the player’s actual age level.
D. Rostering-up may also be granted in the following cases (provided condition B is satisfied):
1.When rostering up resolves roster size issues (e.g., 19 players at one age group,15 at an older age group)
2.When rostering up resolves position conflicts (e.g., 3 goalies at one age group, none at an older age group)
3.When player has rostered with the older team in prior years (i.e., player is "grand-fathered" in). This condition will be re-evaluated each season: returning the player to actual age group may be required to resolve roster size issues.
Roster-up Procedure:
To be considered for rostering-up, the player should send a request by email to the Director of Coaching and Commissioner (Boys or Girls) one
week prior to the tryouts for the next season. Explain reasons for request (see list above).
The Director of Coaching will evaluate each request and where appropriate, the player may be invited to attend the tryout sessions for the older age group at the discretion of the Director of Coaching. However the player will still be required to attend tryouts for their actual age group. Based on tryout and team formation results, player will be notified whether Rostering-up has been granted.
